The Co-Intelligence Revolution: How Humans and AI Co-Create New Value by Venkat Ramaswamy and Krishnan Narayanan
As debates rage over whether Generative AIs will replace humans, The Co-Intelligence Revolution: How Humans and AI Co-Create New Value by Venkat Ramaswamy and Krishnan Narayanan flips the script. This book reframes the dominant narrative: the future belongs not to artificial intelligence alone, but to co-intelligence—a creative, synergistic partnership between humans and AI.
This isn’t a book about AI as automation. It’s a bold, visionary blueprint for a world where human and machine intelligence work in creative harmony, transforming how we live, work, and solve the world’s greatest challenges.
Drawing on over 100 real-world examples across 25+ ecosystems—including L’Oréal’s inclusive beauty platforms, Siemens’ industrial metaverse, Monarch Tractor, and India’s population-scale digital public infrastructures like Aadhaar and ONDC—the book demonstrates how forward-thinking organizations are becoming co-intelligent enterprises, using interactive engagement platforms to drive scalable, sustainable value.
This book presents a radical new vision where human intelligence and AI shape the future together. What if AI wasn’t here to replace us—but to co-create with us? In The Co-Intelligence Revolution, Venkat Ramaswamy, a professor at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, and Krishnan Narayanan, co-founder and president of Itihaasa Research and Digital, offer a bold reimagining of our future. This isn’t a book about AI as automation—it’s a blueprint for a world where human and machine intelligence work in creative harmony, transforming how we live, work, and solve the world’s greatest challenges.

We are no longer in the age of automation—we are entering the age of co-intelligence. In this transformative read, the authors show how AI is no longer a tool for replacement but a creative partner in building new value systems.
Drawing on over 100 real-world examples across 25+ ecosystems, including Siemens, L’Oréal, Monarch Tractor, and India’s DPIs like Aadhaar and ONDC, the book uncovers how forward-thinking organizations are becoming co-intelligent enterprises—tapping into interactive engagement platforms to drive scalable, sustainable impact.
Breakthrough Frameworks That Will Change the Way You See Intelligence
At the heart of this revolution lie three path-breaking frameworks:
- The Life-Xverse: An immersive world where human–AI co-creation unfolds across physical, digital, and virtual spaces—redefining innovation through experience.
- Tokenized Digital Intelligence (TDI): Intelligence becomes like electricity—produced, stored, and distributed at scale to power next-gen enterprise transformation.
- The PIEX Lens: A new model to design Platforms of Interactive Engagements that generate impacts across Ecosystems of life-experiences—transforming public services, industries, and economies through co-creative flow.
These aren’t just concepts—they are the architectures of the future, grounded in systems thinking and a life-first approach to technology.
From Industrial Metaverses to Digital Public Goods: A Revolution in Action
From beauty tech in Paris, to AI in farming, to India’s population-scale digital stack, The Co-Intelligence Revolution offers an unmatched tour through the evolving global landscape of innovation. The book argues that the future of intelligence lies not in code, but in collaboration—in the relational flows between people, platforms, and technologies. Whether it’s transforming education with EdTech, healthcare with public AI, or cities with citizen-first design, this is a future that demands co-creative vision.
Why This Book Matters Now?
At a time when AI dominates headlines and fear looms large, The Co-Intelligence Revolution is a refreshingly hopeful and practical vision. It’s for anyone ready to move beyond buzzwords and fear—and instead engage with AI as a tool for shared prosperity, participatory innovation, and planetary wellbeing.
