Drawing the natural synergy between Romance and Stories, Penguin Random House and Romedy Now came together for an exciting partnership this Valentine’s Day, with a unique initiative/campaign that offered upcoming writers a rare opportunity to #GetPublished. The call for entry was announced on Romedy Now and was further leveraged across the channel and its network’s channels, in conjunction with the social media outreach by Penguin and Ravinder Singh, resulting in an overwhelming response with more than 1500 stories of more than 1500 words, from writers across the world. Following a thorough selection criteria, shortlisted participants were mentored by a team led by Penguin and Ravinder Singh, India’s best-selling romance author, ensuring the selected writers are truly the most talented and deserving. The final 25 selected budding authors will now be published in the anthology titled – You Are All I Need.
Ravinder Singh highlighted “You Are All I Need is an anthology that stems from a few select short stories that were selected from the thousands of entries we received and will be edited by me. There are great synergies between the stories I write, which Penguin publishes and the stories that Romedy Now telecasts. And we felt there could be no better way than for all three of us to come together and let our audience share their love stories with the world.”
Speaking about the collaboration, Preeti Chaturvedi, VP- Marketing and Strategic Alliances, Penguin Random House India, said, “We are committed to looking for fresh voices and giving people a platform to share their stories with the world. It is towards this goal, that we conceptualised #GetPublished. Our partnership with Romedy Now is unique because of the synergies and reach of TV and digital media to crowdsource content. And the response from the viewers has been overwhelming- what with us receiving more than 1500 entries and a digital reach of more than 128 Million.”
Vivek Srivastava, President – Strategy and Business Head – English Entertainment Cluster, Times Network said, “Romedy Now is synonymous with distinctive content and stories that capture the essence of ‘Love. Laugh. Live’. Akin to the brand ethos, GetPublished is a unique initiative that celebrates the stories and provides an exclusive opportunity to the upcoming authors to share it with the audience. We are extremely happy with the success of the campaign and delighted to partner with Penguin Random House India (PRHI) and Ravinder Singh.”
Vaishali Mathur- Publisher, Indian Languages, Penguin Random House India, wraps up the whole experience in her words, “Romedy Now and Ravinder Singh are both synonymous with romance.
