Introducing Authors and Publishers Katy and Sarah from Nottingham, UK. They have set up an Indie Publishing House, HB Publishing House.

Katy (40), has been a primary school teacher with over 12 years of experience and Sarah (34), who is a SENDCO in a Primary School, has over 10 years of experience. Having developed a strong working relationship, their mutual love of books saw an even stronger friendship grow between them. With their love of all things books, they decided that last year was the time to delve into the writing world and create their own.

Both mothers and working part-time has not been an easy task, but any spare moment they have, they are working on the business or writing their next book. Their aim; to spread a joy and love of reading to as many people as possible, and they have certainly hit the ground running! With four children’s books and three adult romance books published in under a year, they are taking the publishing world by storm.

Writing under the pen names of Ellen Nancy and Roxanne Reid, they have published: ‘To my Mummy,’ ‘Baby Bunny’s Easter Training,’ ‘I Have the Best Daddy’ and the latest release ‘I’m Not Afraid’. This book follows Herbie the Hedgehog on his journey home and he is beautifully illustrated. ‘I’m Not Afraid’ has received a wonderful response from many parents and children alike. HB Publishing House’s adult romance novels are written under the pen name of Frances Fleur. Three books of the Purple Hearted series have already been released; ‘The First,’ ‘And the Second,’ and ‘That Day’ following the stories of young adults, their first experiences of falling in love and how they navigate their journeys – be warned, as this does contain adult content! The Purple Hearted series has received many a 5-star reviews on Amazon and is a series that many have described as ‘un-put down-able’.

HB Publishing House are currently working on its Autumn releases, which include several Christmas stories: a beautiful children’s picture book: a children’s chapter book and a romance novel. We can’t wait for the book reveals!

HB Publishing House has also been busy working with a brand-new author who will be joining the publishing house this Summer. Ffion Jones, will be publishing a second edition of her well-loved children’s book ‘I Would Give You the Moon’ this Autumn.

They are planning reimagined illustrations and are honoured to be bringing a beautiful book with a wonderful message to children across the country.
