A Sahitya Akademi awardee author

Captain Zainul Abedin Khan, born in 1945, is a multi-lingual writer and has written hundreds of stories both in Hindi and Urdu that have been published in many leading literary magazines such as Shama (New Delhi) and Biswin Sadi (New Delhi) to name a few. He has written dozens of novels and books.

He has been conferred with Sahitya Akademi (November 2017) by the Govt. of Maharashtra for his contribution in Urdu. His other awards include ‘Ghazi Masood Hasan Literary Award’ for Hazaron Dubte Suraj (Hindi) and ‘Ilmo Adab Award’ (Pune), a lifetime achievement award for his contribution to writing in Urdu.
