About the author

Pankaj Goyal grew up in a typical Indian middle class family in Jaipur, India. In a family of government employees, he followed the standard script to build a career: “Work hard on academics and get the highest scores.” After getting his Bachelors in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur and an MBA from IIM Bangalore, Pankaj landed a dream job with McKinsey & Company, the leading management consulting firm. He started working in the Brussels, Belgium office. But he always had an itch. . . an itch to start a company. He left the consulting job after a year and landed in New Delhi to start up in 2008.

Pankaj’s startup experience was bitter-sweet. The business saw early success and generated good cash, but failed to grow. He ran it for three years and decided to quit.

In 2011, he got married and moved to the USA. Ever since, he has continued to work in his area of passion: technology. These days he is focused on applying Artificial Intelligence to solve the toughest problems being faced by businesses. He continues to be involved in the world of entrepreneurship as an angel investor and as an advisor to startups in the Silicon Valley and India.
